Dear Bryson,
We took Connor to go get his first shots this week and you were all prepared to hold his hand while he got his shots. But after he got the first shot I looked over at you when they were getting the shots ready for his next leg and you did not want them to poke him again. You were so concerned since he was screaming, you kept saying "no poke". It's great to see you so concerned for your brother. I love you!

First E.R. Visit
Dear Megan,
I am very late on writing about your recent visit to the E.R. on June 6th. We had been out looking at vans all day and stopped by Sams Club to pick up a few items and eat some dinner. Daddy was fasting so he left us to eat some pizza while he ran to grab the items we needed. As we were eating you slipped off the bench and hit the bench behind you. You started crying, so I came over and hugged you and told you that it was alright. I asked you where it hurt so I turn you around and your hair hds blood all over in it. Luckily Dad was at the checkout, that I told him you were bleeding and took you the bathroom leaving Bryson eating all by himself. We got you all cleaned up and once I could get a good look at the wound I knew that you were going to need staples or stitches. The employees at Sams Club were very helpful. We spent the night in the E.R. You were very brave and ended up with this...

Swimming
Dear Megan & Bryson,
We just finished up swimming lessons for both of you and you guys did GREAT!
Bryson you loved playing in the water, especially with the balls and were not afraid of the water at all.
Megan, you really grew a lot with this swim lesson. You are now jumping in all by yourself, and even going under water without plugging your nose.
I am so proud of both of you! I love you guys!

Ear rings
Dear Megan,
You have been wanting your ears pierced for a while, but I keep telling you that you have to be at least 8 before you can get them pierced. I had found a pair of clip on earrings that matched your Easter dress and thought that you would love to wear them. Of course you did, and you had to show everyone your earrings.
Then a couple of weeks later we went down to watch Dad race and you were eating your cereal, fruit loops, in the car and when I got you out of the car you were sporting lovely fruit loop earrings. You are one pretty creative girl.
You wore them for most of the day and whenever they would fall off you would frantically find them and put them back on. I love it! Hopefully you will love having your ears pierced as much as you like pretending to have them pierced. I love you!

Shorts & Flip Flops
Dear Bryson,
Ever since we have had warmer weather and you have been able to wear short sleeves you have been obsessed with it. The first time I put you in short sleeves you kept pulling on the sleeves like they weren't long enough, but now you get so excited to wear short sleeves and shorts that you will tell everyone. We also got you some flip flops and you love to wear them and wherever we go you show people your flip flops. You gotta love the spring. Now if only I can get you to give up another blanket so you aren't so hot at night we would be doing good! I love you!!

Reading Queen
Dear Megan,
I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. You have been reading so good lately. I love watching you take a book and try and read it all by yourself. You do have your small stack of books that you will read over and over again since you can read them cover to cover. But you really are becoming an excellant reader. I know that you will continue to get better and I hope that your love for reading will stick with you. I love you!

All My Friends
Dear Bryson,
Every night before you can go to sleep you have to ask where all of your friends are... Kalel, Ella & Ashlynn. Even if we have already tucked you in and left your room, you will start crying or yelling for us to come back so you can ask us about your friends. Of course the response is always, "They're in bed too." But you have to hear it before you will go to bed. I think that it is cute. I love you!

PS- You are still doing great without your passy. You'll ask for it every once in awhile, but I think that you have gotten past the passy stage... at least until your little brother has one, I am sure you will steal his.

Back to School
Dear Megan,
Last week we were sick missing 3 days of school. Yesterday (Monday) when you returned to school you said that everyone was giving you hugs and saying how much they missed you. It was cute hearing how much you were missed from school. You really are a great friend. I love you!!

Passy Gone!?!
Dear Bryson,
I am so proud of you. Today is day 2 of our trek to get rid of your passy. I started yesterday with nap time. You really weren't excited about the idea since it took A LOT of persuading and some crying. I was proud that you only cried for 5 minutes, but you did it. No passy during your nap. At night time you were not about to let Dad convince you to not of the passy since all my persuading was that you would get your passy that night. So we gave it to you last night.
Today I didn't let you have your passy again for your nap and told you that if you were good then the crocodile wouldn't come eat it. (side story: I don't know where it started but you are scared of a crocodile coming. Dad had to beat it up in your closet one night. You will talk about it a couple of times a day. So I figured using this crocodile would help you get rid of your passy.) So you didn't cry at all for your nap. Then tonight when you asked for your passy I told you no. Then you asked if the crocodile bit it and so I said yes. So I guess that is our story. The crocodile bit your passy. You did come out of bed once tonight asking for it, but I just put you back to bed and no you are asleep. Hopefully tonight you will sleep through the night. You have woken up in the past crying cause you haven't been able to find your passy, so hopefully you won't wake up crying wanting your passy. I'm so proud of you and hope that we can beat this without too much of a battle. I LOVE YOU!!

Bad Foot
This morning while trying to get ready to leave Bryson was trying to put his socks on by himself while I did Megan's hair. He started to get frustrated that he couldn't get his foot in that he started to yell at his foot. Then he continued trying to put the sock on, still not having any success he yelled at his foot again and told it to go to time out. He walked to a spot and said "time out, two minutes." He then walked away, looked down at his feet (1 with a sock the other without a sock) and yelled at the foot again "time out, two minutes!" then walked back to the same spot as if to put it back into time out. I couldn't help but laugh and had to write it down.

Bigger is Better
Today while outside playing Bryson wanted to play horsey, so I told him to go find a stick in the backyard. Megan and him went to the back yard and I heard him keep throwing fits. So I went back to see what was going on. Megan was being very helpful and picking up different sticks when Bryson would whine to tell her that he didn't like it. So I started searching for sticks with Megan, but none of them seemed to be right. I finally picked up a stick, that was pretty much as tall as me and he came running to grab it from me. Apparently he just wanted the biggest stick, not one that he could ride as a horse. He then only played with it for 5 minutes.

You Went Where?
Yesterday I couldn't blog about this, but since today is a better day I thought that I would record Megan's first time going to the principals office.
Everyday Megan gets sent home with a 'report card' every day with 8 different areas to receive smiley faces or frowny faces. Most days she will come home with all smiley faces and will occasionally have a frowny face, but yesterday she came home with 3 frowny faces on: 'to listen to each other', 'to be nice to everybody', & 'to always do your best'. Then there was a note that read "Had a talk with Dr. Finch (the principal) today." So after seeing her report I couldn't even talk to her, I was mad, sad, disappointed & felt like I had failed at being a Mother. Since the way your kids act reflect somewhat on how you raise them, I really felt like I had screwed up. Megan asked me if I was mad at her and I told her that I was sad and then I lost it and just started crying. I sent her to her room to think about what she did and told her that we would talk more about it later.
So after a good cry and Megan taking some time out in her room we sat down and had a talk about why she had to see the principal. So in Megan's words. Her and 4 other friends weren't being good during class and were playing around when they shouldn't have been so they were sent out into the hall for a time out. But they kept goofing off out in the hall which got them all sent to the principals office.
After hearing her story I wasn't as mad since it wasn't like she was disrespecting the teacher or being mean to another kid. But we still had a long talk about listening to our teacher and obeying and I made her write an apology letter to her teachers for her actions that she made that day. Hopefully she learned her lesson.

Feminine Side
Dear Bryson,
Today I have caught you doing some things that I wouldn't think that I would catch a little boy doing. I had the TV on in the background and Martha Stewart was on and you were intently watching them cook something. I found it interesting since I can barely get you to watch a kid show but you were glued. You are always interested in watching or helping when I am cooking, if you can't be stirring you will throw a fit. I sometimes think that you will grow up to be a chef.
Today I was also doing my cleaning around the house and you insisted (by the fit you threw) that you had to clean too. So I gave you a dry sponge and you went around the bathroom with me cleaning. I was actually pretty impressed at some of the places that you were cleaning, you picked up the toilet plunger and was cleaning the corner of the bathroom, which probably never gets clean, but maybe there is something about being little and seeing the dirty places. I really appreciate your help. I love you!

Dear Megan,
I just wanted to let you know how proud I was of you today. When I was out delivering thank you goodies to our friends that watched you while Bryson and I were gone, every single one of them said what a great girl you were. They were all delighted to have you at their homes. I really do appreciate you being such a good girl. Thank you! I love you!

What Passy?
Dear Bryson,
I just wanted to let you know that you aren't being tricky and hiding your passy from us. We know that you take it out of your bed when you wake up and that you try and hide it and stick it in your mouth when we aren't looking. I think that it is almost time to get rid of your passy altogether. I just think that it is cute that you think you are being sneaky. I love you!
