You Went Where?

Yesterday I couldn't blog about this, but since today is a better day I thought that I would record Megan's first time going to the principals office.
Everyday Megan gets sent home with a 'report card' every day with 8 different areas to receive smiley faces or frowny faces. Most days she will come home with all smiley faces and will occasionally have a frowny face, but yesterday she came home with 3 frowny faces on: 'to listen to each other', 'to be nice to everybody', & 'to always do your best'. Then there was a note that read "Had a talk with Dr. Finch (the principal) today." So after seeing her report I couldn't even talk to her, I was mad, sad, disappointed & felt like I had failed at being a Mother. Since the way your kids act reflect somewhat on how you raise them, I really felt like I had screwed up. Megan asked me if I was mad at her and I told her that I was sad and then I lost it and just started crying. I sent her to her room to think about what she did and told her that we would talk more about it later.
So after a good cry and Megan taking some time out in her room we sat down and had a talk about why she had to see the principal. So in Megan's words. Her and 4 other friends weren't being good during class and were playing around when they shouldn't have been so they were sent out into the hall for a time out. But they kept goofing off out in the hall which got them all sent to the principals office.
After hearing her story I wasn't as mad since it wasn't like she was disrespecting the teacher or being mean to another kid. But we still had a long talk about listening to our teacher and obeying and I made her write an apology letter to her teachers for her actions that she made that day. Hopefully she learned her lesson.
